VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Reward yourself and give
back to your community by getting involved in exciting volunteer
opportunities at the Women's Resource Center. Volunteers are needed
in the four-county service area of Valley, Phillips, Daniels, and
Sheridan Counties for various projects.
Volunteers may train
as advocates:
- On-call Crisis Line
Advocates provide crisis intervention and advocacy to victims
- One-on-One Advocates
meet with victims and advocate
for their needs
- Safe-home providers
host a victim at their residence
for up to 72 hours
Advocates complete at
least 20 hours of multi-disciplinary training
Volunteers (who will not complete the training hours) are also needed
for:
- Childcare provider
to care for children as needed
- Special project support:
make awareness ribbons or informational displays
represent the WRC at fund-raising events
assist with booths at community fairs
- Office assistance
with copying and stapling, organizing library and staffing office
- Grant writing
- Public speaking
